It makes plenty of sense
Real compatibility comes from standards, shouldn't come from monopoly

Compatibility comes from software talking to like software, in this case Windows to Windows.

As long as the "other" bought the same software.

Again, Windows to Windows.

When are you going to get it through your head that in most linux distributions you only compile if you want to have the development versions?

When they actually make it easy to use and install the latest versions of applications instead of spending hours searching for the source then compiling and installing it and looking for whatever random directory they put it in since there is no standard.

They won't be able even if they want to.

Of course not, they won't be able to find it.

No Ability to automate complex task, will be dependant on what the MS masters allow them to do. Even MS finally discovered (after 25 years) that a decent shell was a necesity and they released PowerShell.

Why would school children want to do that? If they want to run complex tasks then its optional, not a requirement like on other platforms.

And thousands of viruses. But I guess that having an antivirus is not a hassle for you, but a necesity?

There is antivirus software available for the Microsoft Windows platform. Then the students would need to download and install and run the infected programs first to get a virus, which will be caught by the antivirus software anyway. So no problem there.

This is a great way to making them dependent on the MS monopoly, where they are given the fish and not tought how to fish.

Not dependent on Microsoft technology, they are just choosing the right tool for the job because it works well.

Of course, nothing prevents them from using and developing open source on this platform.

Nope.
