Because whoever did needs to take a quick look at their article and proofread it.
This article makes it sound like this vulnerability will mean certain death to content providers' business model and no one is going to pay for it unless streaming video is shackled in DRM. He then goes on to tell the reader EXACTLY how to do this.
1. people who intend on not paying for media aren't going to go to Amazon to rip it off. Amazon is where paying customers go. Bittorrent trackers and Limewire are where nonpaying customers go. The *AA needs to get their ******* out of their twist and suck it up.
2. According to the RIAA's definition of piracy, people have been doing it since long before Napster, and haven't stopped since. I never heard of Sony suing itself over dual-deck tape players.
3. If you're going to rip a movie off, Flash doesn't offer enough quality to make it worth the time and effort. DVD/Blu-ray ripping provides that quality with convenience to boot, and the tools have been around the Internet for some time, especially in the case of DVD.
Thanks for the laugh.
