I?ve come back to Linux (ubuntu) and am using Gnome - tho I?ve had a play with KDE ?s latest (which just ain?t finished enough - still) and as much as I like it - it has taken me an inordinate amount of time just to make it look alright - the various appearance managers are a jungle - good solutions are hard to find and the official documentation is appalling. This is one typical area repeated over and over that I hope Shuttleworth is targeting - but really its right across the desktop in Ubuntu.
And in all honesty most apps may work well (they tend to be pretty unsophisticated often) but they often LOOK really cheap and texty!
Look, it works well and is stable but its a long way from being friendly - and that means - usable
