Typical connection speed?
No matter how quickly the browser can download, the actual speed will vary with what the ISP is providing.

Benchmarks should be run with the median download capacity. Not to mention upload. And that means different benchmarks for different countries and different groups of users.

(Slow upload speeds on typical connections will I expect be another reason for limited use of web applications.)
