RE: SaaS market will 'collapse' in two years
So if SaaS is just a new name for the same thing we've had for years (service bureaus, ASP, etc.), it would seem to me "SaaS" is not going anywhere, and has never left. What doesn't he believe in?

Also - sounds like Lawson hosts in IBM data centers. Would that be HaaS? Hardware as a service? Why does that work and not SaaS? I wouldn't trust anything to IBM Global Services...

And from a business perspective - when a business line asks IT to provide a certain application - isn't internal app provisioning "SaaS" from the business perspective? I'd sure say so.

The point this CIO and all the industry buzzword nurses are missing here is that the key is the quality of the service - measure, manage, and deliver successfully, and you can call it whatever you want, if it meets business requirements for function, risk and cost, its in and not going anywhere.
