Looks isn't even the issue: designers always manage against all odds to leave a show-stopping feature out: Blackberry forgets the camera, PSP makes the "universal" disks un-obtainable, another won't let you export files, somebody else forgets the USB port - it's always something; all guaranteed incompatible.
