Alternatively to the poster who thinks linux users have to jump through hoops to update our systems we could instead if using red hat,mandrake,fedora,suse,debian,ubuntu or any modern linux system just use the UPDATE option on our menu and let it download and configure automatically.
No fuss involved.
Linux is just as vulnerable as any other os if not kept up to date. The difference is that now linux has become more popular it's becoming more of a target and so we are starting to hear of more attacks like this.
