6. We want you to be able to hear and deal with the cold, harsh truth
We don't want to be labeled as "whiners" or seen as "not being team players" when we tell you systems, processes or people are just not working.

We don't want you to see the "glass is half full", we want you to know that there are 8oz. of water in the 16 oz. glass, and it's evaporating at a rate of "x" oz. per day, so you can make an informed, logical decision on when to begin refilling it.

We don't want you to shoot the messenger when we come to you and tell you we can't do something because a decision made by a previous regime five years ago makes the plan impossible.

We want you to realize that technology exists in more than two states - "working" and "not working". Something can be "working" today and still be wrong, because it unnecessarily limits the choices we will be able to make tomorrow. And no, we don't want to worry about that tomorrow like you want to. We want to worry about that now.
