However you'd like to nitpick at it, it works and it works Very well.

If I'd started a OS, and invited everyone to add to my kernel, and it blossomed into what Linux is today, I, too, would be Very Wary of just sticking any and every patch onto the kernel contributed by someone entirely unknown and unproven.
One of the major 'selling' points of Linux is it's stability.
Once you ruin that reputation....
