I believe RIM is reacting to the iPhone
and that they started work on various
models shortly after Steve Jobs original
Keynote on the iPhone. That keynote gave
RIM (and all mobile phone makers) all the
clues they needed in terms of the design
effort required.

Just as long an none of the BBs don't get
called an iPhone Killer. The "i{product}
Killer" tag is the kiss of death for even a
good product.
