What American Computer Company
IBM, Hp/Compaq, Dell, Gateway; nothing inside PC's from these "American Computer Companies" carry the label "Made in USA". Have you ever stopped to think that offshoring started with American Companies manufacturing goods in Asia? Not one television, VCR, DVD player, athletic shoe or 90 of all of your small ticket consumer items are made here. Not even the steel that goes into our skyscrapers is made here.

There is an underlying reason that Asia is the manufacturing hub of the world. Corporate CEO's in the states here are not only exlpoiting the lower standard of livining in places like China, and India, they support it. Why don't you see anything labeled "Made in Japan" anymore. The US was not able to suppress the standard of living there. So as corporate greed extends beyond our shores you can expect the standard of living here to drop here as well as evident by the Census Bureau report issued last week that the ranks of the impoverished in this country swelled by 1.3 million.

Don't let the BS unemployment rate fool you either. Those whose unemployment benefits have run out are no longer part of the published unemployment rate eventhough they are under 65 and still unemployed. And what about the "underemployed", those who lost their jobs but had to settle for lower paying jobs and lower their standards of living in order to survive.

Yes, the "American Dream" is alive and well as long as you are a corporate CEO. For the rest of us, it has turned into a nighmare.
