Read up on copyright history
Copyright was originally a 14-year period with ONE optional 14-year renewal. You couldn't just renew it indefinitely. Then the creative work became the property of everyone; it became "public domain" and everyone could make derivatives or copy it without paying royalties. This is the WHOLE POINT of copyright law. It is a TEMPORARY monopoly, created to encourage people to create things that the public can eventually benefit from.

Since then, corporations like Hasbro have realized they can make a lot of money by buying government officials and getting the laws changed to extend copyright terms beyond their original design. This ruins the whole incentive for creating copyright in the first place, since things don't become part of the public domain until long after they are obsolete.

Please read up on copyright law and history. These corporations are taking away your rights and you don't even realize it.
