You illustrate the point perfectly
For "You" that SPAM is anything you didn't ask for. But what about others. That is where the problem lies.

I mean if I sign up for newletter it's spam to me until I have need to read the letter. I signed up for SPAM with Ticket Master and it gets the exact same treatment. But when I was waiting for the Metallica concert ticket sales date it was not SPAM to me. By the way the twits sent me an email after the concert was sold out. Jerks! Now this email is SPAM.
