Beyond Dangerous Ground
Dangerous and beyond, to allow ICANN to continue their method of control of the Internet in this fashion.

For starters, prices very conveniently happen to be astronomical, but supposedly that's to keep squatters out? How about you DO something for a living, or simply make use requirements to KEEP that domain or extension? (It was a part of Homesteading in the real world, and can be used here as well.) They may be Not For Profit, but you can bet the execs are giving themselves a nice hefty pay increase with that $50-100k USD... for a product that costs literally nothing.

It's time to take back the Internet. This latest sham proves it. They're the de-facto owners of it, selling off bits and pieces as they see fit. As pleases them and their morality. That's simply unacceptable... and far beyond Dangerous. It's time to take that power away from them.
