RE: '.wow': ICANN to allow almost any domain suffix
More than anything else URLS WONT WORK!!!
Every well written program with internet connectivity will automatically recognize a link based on the format. This just wouldn't work with an unlimited number or extensions. Not to mention the difficulty in remembering a domain. Now the average person, anywhere in the world, only really has to remember a few suffixes (.com,net,org,info,gov,tv in the states) but now rather than having to remember timewarner.com we have to remember timewarner.timewarner or Windows.microsoft.

I don't like it one bit, and how the hell does ICANN expect to uphold trademark ownership on a global level? There have to be conflicting trademarks across national borders, and a whole new can of worms for cyber-squating cases of non trademarked intelectual property. Remember the Lawsuit between Nissan motor company and Nissan Computers (the later was based on a family name and had been in business since Nissan was still datson), What happens when a Chinese a Chinese company tries to use the .AOL prefix?
