Having just received an email explaining that our portfolio of premium domain names will suddenly become worthless overnight I have to admit that I laughed quite hard. Apparently we should all sell our investment domain names for "whatever we can get" whilst we still have the chance.

The truth is that the Internet as we know it has been firmly built on the original and well established group of suffixes we all know so well and organisations with an established online presence are not going to bat an eyelid regarding these changes.

Businesses may choose to undertake the chore of securing their trademark for safe keeping but ultimately the new rules will have a few people getting over excited for a short while and then it will be business as usual - again.
