California to drivers: Drop the cell phone, dude

More needs to be done...

I'm a NY traffic ticket attorney (http://NYTicketHELP.com). Cell phone tickets are a minor violation in NY but in some situations can affect insurance rates or driving privileges. Thus, we've handled many such cases.

I've spoken with hundreds of motorists with a tendency to multi-task while driving and hundreds of officers who issue these tickets. They all agree that the problem isn't so much cell phones as it is any non-driving related activity that is performed while driving.

As long as people can still legally drive and eat a sandwich, drink a soda and scroll their ipod there's still work to be done. More general laws which target all non-driving related activities should be considered.
