Illogical reasoning!
This is what the first set of studies say:

This is what Simitian says:

"There are more and more people out there on the highway and the CHP (California Highway Patrol) has collected data every year showing that cell phones are the number one cause of distracted drivers," Simitian said.

The study Simitian refers to have not proven whether cell phone is the number one cause or cell phone conversation is it! So if cell-phones are the number one cause, they may certainly remain one even with hands-free! Where is the evidence showing the benefits of hands-free!? The first set of studies mentioned here clearly say that there are none!
