open source can make money to
Why does almost everybody think you can't make money with open source? Mysql is making the company money. It may require a new buisiness model but hey if yoou can not inovate what are you doing in buisiness anyway. With the whole .net suff I think even MS is going the rent a software/service route where te actual software isn't making the money but providing it as a service is. Besides, I think you are by passing the security concept. Proprietary software will never be as fast in it's response to security flaws as open source is. The benefits to security that arise from the ability to view te source code is inmense. Not only can anybody see what may constitute a risk but the same person could actualy contribute to the solution for that risk. A model I prefer over MS strategy of waiting for months to come out with a patch while leaving PC'sa vulnarable for that period of time.
