IT A Level for OCR is bad

I began studying IT (OCR exam board) and Computing (AQA) at A level two years ago, with computing being my primary subject and IT being an 'extra', thinking I might learn something useful....

It was the WORST course that I have ever taken, it taught rediculously simple skills (basics of using MS office), the theory was boring and largely irrelavent to real world applications. The exam was attrocious, there was no focus on understanding any of the concepts, it was all about memorising definitions from the textbook, the mark scheme was stupidly picky about wording.

I do not blame my college or the teachers in the slightest, they were great, it is fully down to OCR, the exam board


It is little wonder that noone is going on to do degrees in IT when they have been so badly put off by doing the A level.
