It may not be the total solution but a good baby step foreword
How about a story about the true cost of a new car (including recycling cost and chemical pollutants to manufacture all the plastic pieces and please do not use a state of the art plant use a China or India plant)
And compare it to updating and restoring an old car (50s or 60s) the story being the true cost of new cars and possibly the benefit of our frugal parents or grandparents

Maybe a story about the early cars and planes (pre-WWI) that used both gas and ethanol
