Why not crack the Atari 400? That was my first computer. I used VisiCalc with it to keep checkbook and financial records. Bell Helicopter used an Atari 400 to drive several video monitors during one of their flight test programs. I modified mine to have more memory, both ram and PROM. I also added a full travel keyboard.
