What are you smoking?
Maybe you'd better grind your ax a little, because it looks to be extreamely dull. I work with Java every day, on at least 5 different platforms, with 4 different J2EE servers, and you know what? I havn't had to recompile anything. I have classes that were compiled for J2SE 1.2, and they run just fine on the most current runtime environments. If I do recompile that code, it will be so that the newest compilor can recode the binaries with the latest optimizations and algorithm tweaks, which would only make them faster. This would require no change to the source code at all.

I think before you spout off, you should really know what the heck you're talking about. You sound like you have no first hand knowledge of Java whatsoever, which makes you either someone looking for attention, or someone posting FUD with a purpose. Either way, you are wasting our time here.
