No big deal
You have injected a great note of realism and balance into the discussion. Thank you!
I am a Windows user about 8 hours per day, and it works great. It's easy to use, very powerful, and fits into our corporate structure very well(Windows desktop, Windows Servers, Windows Mobile phones, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server, Visual Studio, etc). We save a lot of admin time by sticking with a homogeneous environment, and for a company of 150 or so, this works great.
I know some friends with Macs and they love them. That's great.
So what's the big deal? Apple doesn't come close to providing the entire eco-system that our company needs and really appreciates, so for me to use a Mac would introduce needless extra hassle and support issues. And for what? I can't imagine spending any less time doing the things I need to do to run my work life (because I spend VERY little time on OS issues).
I can appreciate Mac users' preference for the Mac OS, but I'm using Vista all day every day and I really like it.
I just want the OS and the hardware to work easily and reliably so I can do the stuff I need to do. Windows does that perfectly well, so I'm very happy with it. If the Mac OS works for others, that's cool too.
It's just not a big deal.
