Zealots on both sides keep resolute and immutable, irrespective the evidence.

However, in a level playing field where the facts are presented fairly, most will follow the evidence correctly. But as with Betamax, where there was no level playing field and the facts weren't presented fairly, the truth eventually won out even if the commercial reality didn't.

It's an unfortunate fact of life that big money and [even moderate] propaganda can easily sell crap to the gullible whilst the valuable and worthwhile whither on the shelves.
