RE: ISO calls for end to Open XML 'personal attacks'
My belief is that XML is a red-herring, and the the world needs to work directly with "complex structures."

I built a dataserver in the late 90s purely from Perl complex structures in. It was highly secure, and "expressed itself" through updatable web pages.

Perhaps the time has passed for organizations such as the WC3, and especially for domain name controller. From what I am reading, it seems that the ISO has also lived past its usefulness. In my previous incarnation as an information engineer, I would have been nervous about stating this, the obvious. But since I am now in another industry, on that has no consequences, long haul trucking, I am not concerned about reprisal from these abusive technology savants.

From the socio- and psychological, and legal perspective, Microsoft as the most controlling corporation in the world is also the most abusive, and creates a model of controlling abuse for every other corporation in the world.

And finally, JavaScript is yet another red-herring. There should be rudimentary math and boolean logic built into HTML -- something any browser could easily parse.

Here is links describing my views of an empathic Information Society

Perhaps most relevant is this:

Also, my Linux Society organization survives as this blog: http://linux-society.blogspot.com

and still meets in this discussion empathic information discussion group: http://care2.com/c2c/group/empathy
