Borland's Delphi had tabs too.
I can't recall if version 1.0 came out in late 94 or early 95, but either way it would have predated the December 27 1995 patent. Tabbed windows were such a common way to organize information even then that it was a standard object in Delphi.

Yeah, I admit it; I programmed in Delphi. Liked it too!
