Australia and . . . . Hawaii??
(pulls out Google Earth)

Wouldn't it be a bit easier to go to Asia? There's a lot of ocean between Australia and Hawaii . . .

With that much cable, they could reach Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, China, Indonesia, the perhaps even India. Why Hawaii?

I suppose that it's more bandwidth to the USA, but still, sounds quite ambitious.
