RE: How IT can save us from recession
Many of the businesses that I have worked with have treated us in IT as pure propeller heads who couldn't have a decent business idea. So when IT speaks about the business the business switches off.

There is, IMHO, a fundamental difference between IT operations and IT as a business partner. We need IT operations just as much as we need any other kind of run the business operations. It's about keeping the lights on. We also need the kind of business analyst, one foot in the business, the other in technology role that is so hard to fill. When we in technology stop talking technology's language to our business counterparts, then we have a chance to be taken seriously
