Screw software patents! Copyright the CODE and let's all go home, PLEASE. If someone can come up with better, tighter, faster, more secure, whatever code then he deserves to be able to use it and exploit it. With the limited life of code you get a small window of opportunity before someone does better. That will spur real competetion and innovation and everyone wins.
