RE: Americans prefer energy fix to cancer cure: poll: You can give some really good help in Cancer research by going to http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org and signing up for the Help Cure Cancer project, which will cost you just the price of leaving your computer on, about the same as a 100 watt bulb.

There are also other projects at WCG on which you can have an impact, and projects at http://boinc, berkeley.edu, known as BOINC.
