Smells like greed
They probably didn't anticipate how popular Guitar Hero would become, and someone at Gibson is just trying to cut a bigger slice of the pie for themselves. I'll bet that if Gibson and Activision executives met for 30 minutes over lunch, they could work out this issue in a day or two, instead of dragging it through the courts for the next six months. Gibson needs to reign in their stupid lawyers: As everyone knows, lawyers are only trained to find problems, not solutions.
