I have to agree that the roots in R&R, aka you've got talent kid, but I'm taking 80% cause you'll never make it on your own. Given the generations of lessons from history, I'm quite sure that both parties knew what they were doing, back when guitar Hero was a concept. All that said, I agree with Activision arguement. I'm sure that Gibson was not trying to enter the video entertainment market, but rather develop a system to enhance the garage band or porch picker experience. It will some time before we hear of someone making it big as a guitarist that got their passion to play from Guitar Hero, but I'm sure that it has already motivated some game players to become guitar players.
