Awkward is right

It looks like a solution to a problem that doesn't exsist, to me, like that silly rocket-gun. If you have trouble seeing the screen, you use a stylus, pencil or fingernail, this... This is really cool, but I just don't see a practical application for mobile devices.

I DO see a practical application, perhaps, for intigrating Microsoft Surface into a glass tabletop, or for intigrating a computer into a window or mirror with varying levels of transparency. Perhaps even a sort of "digital curtain" with controls right on the window, like the blinds seen in the Disney movie "Treasure Planet". That's where this technology would more likely take hold.
