Don't see how it can work???
In the next 20 to 30 years China followed by US and India is stated to be the largest markets in the world. In fact the combined Chinese and Indian market will be larger than all the G-8 markets combined.

With the current steep increases in income and disoposable income occuring in these countries, why do you think any corporation would need the US market at all, except may be for prestige? I cannot see protectionism getting us anywhere.
