Which top products are written in India?

Since a piece of software is 100% the result of the work of IT staff, don't you think its odd that there are no winning apps coming out of India? Nothing stops Delhi staff writing the next MySQL, so if there's such oversupply of great staff where is all the killer software?

The problem is India has programmers with training but not experience, the best of those have already been cherry picked and already work for western companies around the world.

The rest have no home industry of their own to work in and end up doing outsource work for the likes of Diebold.

The fad for outsourcing was based on the notion that all programmers are made equal, an inexperienced Indian programmer on the end of a phone is the same as the guy in next office in Silicon valley who knows these systems inside out.

But I don't think its real, its just hollow marketing, like your comment here.

If outsourcing is so inevitable, why are you marketing it so hard?
