RE: Coming soon: Movies on flash memory cards
Once a rental price drops far enough, the desire
to own (or steal for that matter) also drops.
The plus side?

Eco friendly. No costs of manufacture, minute
cost of distribution, always available movies,
never a "missing/sold out" situation.

The negative?

Well, it's bad for video stores and sellers and
manufacturers of "hard" media. You can replace
the video store with something the size of an
ATM which you can place in any store. They
already do this with DVD's.

The question comes down to profit and who's
Ox gets gored. Also, what is the magic price
point that maximizes profit. There is the
initial start up costs (not unlike buying a
DVD player) but as long as there is enough
support you have a winning concept.
