How many patents?
You ask how many patents MS has. Wouldn't a better question be; how many have they bought? Every year MS buy thousands of software patents. Does acquired ownership of these patents establish that they "invented" the software? Hardly! But they are allowed to sue as if they HAD invented it.

When they simply "steal" software without either purchasing it or remunerating the inventor, don't you think he/she/they should have the same right to sue for infringement that MS does when they sue for infringement of "purchased" software patents?

It seems that software patents are just a way of allowing someone to "own" language.

If I write and patent: "See Spot run.", then someone else in his book, writes something like: "George could see Spot run up the hill.", is a suit justified? WTF?
