Patent process is need of review
as much as the patents themselves and some sense injected for the good of the future of the patent office, at least here in the US. I'm not sure of the international implementations, but some things (not necessarily this article's target) just shouldn't have a patent on them, and/or cause too much immediate harms. Patents today seem to be a great lockout to competition versus a great way to protect invention.
