Excellent Analysis
Now that virtually all of our computer parts are made in China, it would be a simple matter for the Chinese government to slip a few rigged parts into each computer shipment. If these parts made it into computers at someplace like NORAD, and these parts had the hardware-based backdoors you suggest, how difficult would it be for them to disable the entire NORAD system, leaving the U.S. and Canada open to attack? In fact, how difficult would it be for an Al Queda-type organization to bribe individuals in China to do the same thing to parts shipping to pretty much any country they wish to attack? What about the computer parts that go into our fighter jets? I doubt that they are made in the U.S. This is the type of risk you take when you ship out all of your manufacturing. Combine that with offshored hardware and software design and you will eventually be screwed. All of this risk so that some corporations and leaders can become incredibly wealthy. Disgusting!
