- All of those mechanisms that you mention, firmware password, virtual memory encryption, etc. don't change the fact that the AES key is kept in RAM in the clear, and if that RAM is readable by an untrusted source (two methods listed in article) then your secrets aren't secret anymore. By denying the option to boot from a remote image, you block one of the attack vectors, but the supercooled RAM transfer won't stop anybody who has physical access to the inside of your machine.
