I'm glad that they didn't.
I realy have no issues with microsoft, I'm not anti microsoft.
But lately, all the 'improvements' and upgrades that microsoft has done to the web based services I use have resulted in making them less useable, in some cases even un-useable.
hotmail converting to 'live' has resulted in it requiring several clicks to get it to actually complete a one click operation, a simple delete will often sit for as long as I'm willing to wait. two click minimum, marking something as spam does NOTHING at all. Tried sending mail from another account, marked it as junk, and all mail from that account still ends up in the inbox. I've used hotmail since before it was MS, and the changes have resulted in me moving everything important to Yahoo.
Hotmail is the one that 'hurt' the most, but other MS services have gone the same way in my experience, not just one computer, I have five here, 1 with 2k, 3 with XP, and one with Vista, and all show the same 'features' so I know it's not OS/browser bugs, Also use a few others on occasion with the same results
So, as far as "a more rich and featureful internet" if the hotmail is an example, they can keep it.
And I realy hope Yahoo stockholders are smart enough to realize they have a good thing as it is.
Anything that says "LIVE" is enough to make me look elsewhere
