Ah, I remember those days -

1541 + EA game = Realign 1541 Heads.

The copy protection schemes they came up with that involved half tracking and bad blocks which then caused the drive to beat the head assembly into the track 0 stops. Half of the game hacks out there were less aimed at piracy than at protecting our fragile disk drives.

We need the D&D RPG game manufacturers to examine the play mechanism that was Telengard and follow suit - pure ASCII block graphics and one of the most enjoyable dungeon hunt games ever.
