No Warm fuzzies
I fight corporate and lending monopolies and am a strong supporter of Microsoft because it maintains free market capitalism and our right to get paid for our work and our increases our technology choices and reduces our costs. Without MS driving the PC market we would probably using 100 mhz processors 500 mb hard drives and pc would probably cost at least double what they do now due to ms driving volume production, marketing and distribution of pc's

Despite the monopoly allegations against ms they won out over Apple which absolutely employs unfair and monopolistic trade practices.

I'm not getting the warm fuzziest over the MS Yahoo proposed merger because of the impression of monopolistic business practices. MS has done a horrible job defending against outrageous monopoly allegations and is opening the door for more.

I didn't see any EU news showing MS hostages forced to use ms at gunpoint.

I sat on a patent for low cost, low noise, low maintenance, compact colling systems for PC's because I would rather be broke than see a bunch of communists run Linux systems on my designs, and ms was hung up on the patent issue and I felt it would be immoral to lock the design by patent by ms.

MS needs to expand and hedge its bets with product diversification but think the 44 billion is far better spent else ware.

If Ms has not done a good job with its web search and neither has Yahoo what do they bring to the table other than E-mail customer base and a poor business model?

If I was running MS especially entering the post Gates era I would develop spin offs, focus on core business, and focus on future direction.
