Environmental Hypocrisy
You just brought up an example of where the environmental movement has gone wrong, and, as Dr. Moore says, tries to "scare" people. Yes, the uranium enrichment plant in Kentucky releases CFCs, which are a greenhouse gas. But that plant uses 50-year old technology, and environmentalists have consistently blocked construction of a new, non-CFC-emitting enrichment plant. Finally, a plant with the new technology is under construction in New Mexico. The hypocrisy: a recent newspaper op-ed by a Sierra Club official opposing nuclear power made the very same statement you did about the emission of CFCs in Kentucky. When I looked at public comments on the Environmental Impact Statement for the new enrichment plant, guess what organization was opposed to its construction? Of course, the Sierra Club.

Maybe they get more donor contributions by keeping environmental controversies alive than by helping find real environmentally-protective solutions.
