- Panic in Detroit

is not just a David Bowie song. I doubt that the citizens that lived near the Fermi I nuke plant have a pleasant feeling about nuke power. First off, a link to some reasons that this guy needs to consider:
http://www.lutins.org/nukes.html
This is a pretty comprehensive list of (US only) nuke accidents.
I remember well the Greenpeace guys trying to stop nuke dumping at sea. Those huge barrels against their inflatable motorboats. Brave or stupid? Who knows. At least France/England put it in barrels before they dumped it in the ocean! The Soviets just poured it right in. Hey, it was in a desolate, isolated area in the far frozen north - no way anyone would ever know. Heck the Arctic is frozen and useless, right? Maybe right - then.
Although you may think I'm a bleeding heart liberal - listen up, I'm all for new nuke plants. The reason I stated the above is so that we REMEMBER and LEARN from past mistakes. I also believe that Detroit and its salt mine would be a perfect place to store n-waste. Not a bad money maker for a bankrupt city either . . .
