RE: Gates misses the point on 'creative capitalism'
" Overall, Americans give a staggering $260 billion to 1.4 million charities a year.
(By comparison, NASA's entire budget for 2007 is around $16 billion.) "

'Americans' or American corporations ? Corporations based in America that hire Americans or corporations based in America that outsource their employment ?

NASA is just a drop in the bucket compared to what the Military-Industrial Complex devoured in 2007. The DOD's budget was $439.3 billion.

Corporations can not only be good citizens they can make profits without screwing anyone nor the Planet. Really, it's not an impossible task.

The biggest issue with Capitalism is Greed. We are now in a 'Greed' era. Such eras have brought forth reactions in the past to counterbalance said greed.
The reactions go to far or are not a viable alternative in the long run.
The cycle then heads back to Greed again.

Creative capitalism is a viable alternative that needs to be explored, defined, and instituted so that the Human Race need not go through these endless, useless economic cycles.
