RE: Non-geek: despite what the average person thinks about Linux, it's not hard to use. As a matter of fact with the release of distributions like Ubuntu that come pretty much fully setup, also with free office software and support forums to help you fix any and every problem that may arise, Linux is becoming even more user friendly. If you're curious, search for Ubuntu and have them send you a free LiveCD. No shipping and handling, completely free. These cd's are great since you can try Linux without changing a single thing about your computer.
