but... that's the point of it isn't it?

For you - yes, you can go and install whatever version of the OS you want on it!

The point is that they're doing it - at last - and it's selling. No home user ever buys a computer and reformats/reloads the HDD without seeing what's already on it... so there's a lot of people out there buying these machines and then seeing a real operating system for the first time... and having a play... and then, hopefully, not finding any great reason to get someone in to rebuild it. And that's how another PC gets added to the list of linux users. And maybe, they like what they see so much , they put linux on their other PC's?

Don't become an OS bigot where everything has to have your preferred distro - the distro on these machines will have been chosen because of ease of use - for the general user - and ease of support.

When we start seeing these on the shelves over here in Europe, I will be well happy!
