RE: (Photos: San Francisco in 2108)
All of those tower like structures and built up infrastructure. Just where I want to be when the next big bay area quake hits. Even if they could make a building structurally sound enough for a 7 or 8 (or better) on the Richter scale, outside infrastructure damage would make getting in/out/away pretty chancy. And if the quake were extremely big, very deep and offshore, then a tsunami heading for a population center that dense would make it almost impossible to evacuate in anything resembling a timely manner. Of course you can postulate that someone will have solved the problem of earthquake prediction/prevention by then.
